A move-in checklist for your first week at home

Organize keys, condition notes, services and contact details so important tasks do not disappear after signing.

Confirm the handover

Arrange the date, time and person responsible for giving you access. Confirm keys, fobs, parking access and any elevator reservation with the property contact. Keep the signed lease and agreed inclusions available. If a promised item is incomplete, ask how it will be resolved and record the answer rather than relying on memory.

  • Confirm access and appointment details
  • List keys and access devices received
  • Write down unfinished items and agreed follow-up

Record the starting condition

Walk through the home and make dated notes about its condition. Photograph relevant details where appropriate and send material concerns through the agreed channel. Describe locations precisely: “under the kitchen sink” is more useful than “plumbing issue.” Condition records help communication; they do not replace local legal requirements or professional advice in a dispute.

  • Use clear room names and dates
  • Keep original photos and messages
  • Ask for acknowledgement of issues reported

Set up the routine

Confirm which services you need to arrange, how rent should be paid and how to reach the property team. Test that you can find essential documents again after the move. Keep emergency instructions separate from ordinary maintenance requests, and agree with household members who handles shared tasks.

  • Confirm payment instructions through a trusted contact
  • Store the lease and service information together
  • Save emergency and routine contact details

Use Passport beyond the application

Your Azyba Passport can continue to support your home after the search. Where your landlord has enabled the relevant services, you can access online rent payments, maintenance requests and rental files. Confirm which functions are active for your home rather than assuming every imported listing already uses them. Keeping the rental documents together makes the transition from applicant to resident easier.
